Dear Parents/Guardians,

Elementary students in both Region 6 and Litchfield Public Schools, will be provided with a variety of opportunities to stay connected and engaged this summer. We would like to gather feedback as to which opportunities would work best for your families. Please note that this programming is separate from any ESY (extended school year) services that your child(ren) may receive.

Please click here to submit your survey response that will help us plan summer learning opportunities.

Descriptions of the summer learning options are found below. Please feel free to contact the school or Academic Office if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Amy Kennedy

I. Summer Camp

All students are invited to attend one or two week-long summer camp sessions which will focus on enrichment in STEM and language arts through real world applications and hands on learning. The camp will include recreational activities as well as local field trips. The dates of this summer camp are to be determined based on the outcome of this survey. If there is limited interest/registration, this program will not run.

Our school districts have partnered with Edgenuity to offer a beta pilot program this summer, intended to support and accelerate students in both reading and math. It is designed to deliver age-appropriate, adaptive lessons aligned to priority standards. This is a virtual program that can be done anytime, anywhere.

Dear GCS Families,

Please see below regarding remote learning due to Covid-19 circumstances.

Remote Learning Registration Form for Grades K-6

Good Morning GCS Families,

In the event that your child needs to learn remotely, please read the Remote Learning Registration form, which needs to be completed and returned to the school, click here.

  • Please print the form, complete and scan or email to gcs@rsd6.org or fax completed form to 860-491-6025. The document explains the purpose of remote learning and expectations for the student and parent.

  • Please reach out to the main office, the school nurse and the classroom teacher in order to facilitate the process. The school needs time to prepare for your child to go remote ( including gathering materials) which may take 24-48 hours to complete.

  • If your child is home due to illness, please have them rest so that they can get better and return to school as quickly as possible.

  • Again, here is the link for the Remote Learning Registration Form which must be completed before your child will have access to remote learning. Any questions, please call the office at 860-491-6020.

Please click here for the Elementary Re-Entry Form, to return to in-person schooling.
