Hello week has been a big success. Students participated in many activities in order to reach out and say hello to someone new and possibly even make a new friend. On Monday, students started off with “Hey Day!” This was the start with Hello Kick Off! On Wednesday’s “Mix-It-Up Lunch”, seating for upper grades was rearranged and both lunch waves played dice breaker games which helped to facilitate conversations with new friends. Tomorrow, students will participate in “Reach-Out-to-Someone-New Day” where students will receive a Start With Hello sticker, and are encouraged to use what they learn to play/make conversation with someone they do not usually interact with. All classrooms received lessons and read-alouds by our school psychologist, Kristin Lutz, encouraged students to “Start With Hello”

A Start With Hello brochure with more information and ideas for home is attached to this week’s e-newsletter. We know the students will enjoy this week and will carry the ideas forward throughout the year!

Pick Up Dismissal Procedures

On Wednesday, we started a new dismissal procedure for student pick up. Dismissal will still be in the cafeteria, but we ask that you do not arrive any earlier than 3:25 for pick up. Students will be dismissed one at a time at the cafeteria door and there will be no need for the parent/guardian to enter the building. This new dismissal procedure is in effort to make the pick up process go smoothly, quickly and as safely as possible. Please make note, that dismissal changes need to be mailed or called in to the office by 11:00am the day of the dismissal change. This will ensure that your child will be dismissed to the proper location.
