Setting Goals in The Grow Lab

Mrs. Wright

With the new year upon us, setting goals and taking on challenges is happening in The Grow Lab. While exploring the difference between a Fixed Mindset and a Growth Mindset, students are involved in a challenge to grow their brains! The Growth Mindset Challenge prompts students to undertake a meaningful personal goal that challenges them to keep track of their progress, overcome obstacles, and reflect on how a growth mindset allows them to achieve their goals. Keeping a gratitude journal, eating 5 servings of fruits and veggies a day, staying hydrated, creating a nature journal, and fitness goals are samples of challenges students have taken on. At the end of this 4-week challenge, students will share and showcase their achievements.

Snow Shoeing! This winter, students will be able to traverse the great outdoors wearing snowshoes. Our elementary school nurses obtained grants through Fit Together to purchase snowshoes. Using the “5-2-1-0” model, students are challenged to participate in at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day. With the anticipation of another snowy winter, the snowshoes will provide a wonderfully fun way to move on the snow. Let it Snow!

Fit Together’s mission is to build the healthiest kids, families, and communities through sustainable strategies that foster healthy eating and active living.
